City Winery Chicago Annouces Colleen Miller
Thursday, 16 February 2012
City Winery Chicago,  a fully operational winery, restaurant with outdoor patio, concert hall, and private event space set to open in the heart of Chicago’s West Loop this summer, has named veteran Chicago talent buyer Colleen Miller as Program Director.  In coordination with City Winery in New York, Miller will oversee all of the music and arts programming at the Chicago venue.
With an extensive career in the Chicago music scene, Miller, 47, was most recently the Talent Buyer for the Old Town School of Folk Music, where she previously held the role of Director of Concerts and Events.  Prior to joining the Old Town School in 1995, Miller promoted shows at an array of venues including Navy Pier, The Vic, Park West, and the Harris Theater; booked and managed the Coronet Theatre in Evanston; and co-owned Biddy Mulligan’s in the early 1990’s.  She also founded the Old Town School’s Chicago Folk & Roots Festival in 1998, which annually attracts nearly 30,000 people.  Miller is a graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Communications.
“We are very excited for Colleen to join the City Winery team,” said City Winery Chicago owner and music/wine impresario Michael Dorf.  “She has vast knowledge and an impressive background in the music scene, especially in Chicago, and will be a perfect fit.”
City Winery Chicago will be the first off shoot of the New York location.  The 30,000-square-foot property located at 1200 West Randolph in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood plans to hire approximately 90 new employees for the facility, which will serve lunch and dinner, offer over 200 concerts a year, and host hundreds of private events and parties.
The first City Winery opened in New York in 2008 and has been a huge success with customers and critics, earning industry accolades.
